
Position Overview
Pipe fitters ensure the functionality and safety of pipes that transport various substances, such as water, chemicals, and gases. Essential to sectors like manufacturing, construction, and utility companies, the position demands a high level of technical skills and attention to detail to maintain the integrity and efficiency of the piping systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout requirements.
- Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipe to required shapes using hand and power tools or machines.
- Securing pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
- Installing and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment, including pumps and valves.
- Testing piping systems for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
- Complying with all safety protocols and regulations during installation and maintenance.
- Collaborating with other trades, such as plumbers, HVAC technicians, and project managers, to ensure cohesive work environments and operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1-3 Years Experience in piping works (Industrial / Oil & Gas preferred)
- Able to read isometric drawings
- Experience in GI/MS/CS Piping
- Fabrication, threading and grooving knowledge
- Valid QID preferred
- With Ras Laffan Gate Pass preferred
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Completion of relevant technical training.
- Trade license or certification (as required by local regulations).
- Safety training (OSHA or equivalent) is an advantage.
Work Environment
- Work may involve both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, hazardous materials, and tight spaces.
- May require on-call duty for emergency repairs, evenings, weekends, or holidays.
